This is a quick message to let those who study Late Antiquity that the annual 'IMBAS' conference is being held in the National University of Ireland, Galway, on November 11th-12th.  Although this is nominaly a medievalist conference, there is apparently a definite desire to hear papers relating to the Late Antique period too.

The theme of the conference is: ‘Identity: ‘individual, society and realm'.

This broad theme has been promoted to encourage as wide a range of submissions as possible.

250 word abstracts can be submitted to the university any time before 30th September 2011.  Full details and contact addresses at this site:

Best of luck to any that apply!
