We're sure you're all excited for the hustle and bustle of a new academic year (workload breathing down your neck, arriving feeling a bit at a loss and exposed, hoping someone will help you gather yourself and get your feet on dry land - yes there's a reason I chose the picture I did for this blog…)
Just a few notes on the semester, and things to look out for.
On 26th September Lilah Grace Canevaro is organising a one-day workshop on 'Objects and Liminality". Our own PhD student, Siobhan Privitera, is speaking at the workshop, and we encourage you all to go along and hear what will undoubtedly be a great paper.
The department of Classics is hosting a conference on Sidonius Apollonius, organised by Gavin Kelly, from 20-23rd November. More details can be found here: http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/history-classics-archaeology/news-events/events/sidonius-conference
After a successful trip to AMPAL 2014 in Cambridge, Edinburgh will be next to host AMPAL, in June 2015. Any enquiries can be made to me (Sarah - [email protected]).
We'll be sure to keep you updated with further events and news from the PG community as the semester progresses. For now, valete cum bona fortuna.
Sarah
